We are seeking aFacilities Supervisor to join our Facilities Team supervising our North Resource Centre and Blaenau Gwent Clinics. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of vital facilities services across community healthcare settings, ensuring patients, staff and visitors benefit from safe, clean and welcoming environments. The working hours are 16:00 - 20:00 Monday to Friday Main duties of the job As a Facilities Supervisor, you will lead and support a team of facilities staff, ensuring services are delivered effectively and safely across a range of community sites. You will oversee day-to-day facilities operations, including cleaning, catering, portering and other support services, ensuring compliance with NHS Wales standards and Health Board policies. Working closely with clinical and operational colleagues, you will help maintain high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention and control, health and safety, and service quality. You will also play a key role in staff supervision, training, performance management and service improvement.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support facilities staff across community healthcare locations.
  • Monitor service quality and ensure standards are consistently achieved.
  • Conduct regular site visits and work closely with clinical teams.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality and excellent customer service.
  • Manage staff performance, attendance, training and development.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, Food Hygiene and Infection Prevention requirements.
  • Monitor stock levels, equipment and resources to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Respond to service issues and implement solutions in a timely manner.

Qualifications – Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 supervisory qualification or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and experience
  • Food Hygiene & Safety Level 2
  • Basic Health & Safety Certificate
  • Knowledge of full range of work procedures, practices, and equipment for cleaning, catering and portering services
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety, HACCP policy and procedures
  • Customer service
  • Manual Handling Certificate
  • Awareness of NHS cleaning techniques as per National Cleaning Standards for NHS Wales

Qualifications – Desirable

  • NVQ level 2 in Cleaning or Catering Services
  • Certificate in Health & Safety
  • ECDL IT Qualification
  • Food Hygiene & Safety Level 3
  • Food Allergen Awareness
  • Awareness of NHS cleaning techniques as per National Cleaning Standards for NHS Wales
  • Awareness of All Wales Nutrition and Catering Standards for Food and Fluid provision for Hospital Inpatients

  • Relevant experience in the cleaning and catering industry

  • Experience of training staff in routine tasks

  • Assessing and undertaking risk assessment
  • Previous experience of supervising staff
  • Experience of undertaking audits
  • Knowledge of medical gases
  • Knowledge of waste disposal, Ability to work effectively with both management and other supervisors with a positive attitude and willingness to take responsibly
  • Knowledge of working in multi-disciplinary environments

  • Previous experience within a healthcare environment
  • Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh
