Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Otorhinolaryngologist based at the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport. The post will have responsibility in providing support and treatments for the Rhinology service and emergency and inpatient work in Grange University Hospital. The successful candidate will join the remaining Consultants in the provision of routine ENT surgery services within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ENT surgery services, including outpatient clinics, day‑case theatres, and inpatient care.
  • Manage the Rhinology service and emergency work at Grange University Hospital.
  • Maintain close relationships with Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Restorative Dentistry, Radiotherapy, Pathology and Dermatology Departments.
  • Participate in a 1:8 on‑call rota and contribute to postgraduate teaching and clinical governance.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Fully registered with the GDC and GMC and hold a licence to practice on the anticipated start date.
  • On the GDC Specialist Register for ENT or within 6 months of receiving CCT/CESR (CP) at the time of interview.
  • Certificate of Accreditation or eligibility for CST in ENT Surgery.
  • Required Disclosure and Barring Service checks as per the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
