The Radiology Directorate within ABUHB are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join their administrative and clerical team. The role requires a degree of flexibility to cover the reception desk for 5 days a week.

Candidates Must Have Current Reception Experience

We have one full‑time post at Royal Gwent Hospital Newport (37.5 hours).

The successful candidate of this exciting post will be an integral member of the Radiology Team at The Royal Gwent and St Woolos Hospital Newport. Working as part of an essential admin and clerical team, the post holder will be responsible for day‑to‑day receptioning and the maintenance of inpatient and outpatient appointments, ensuring service users receive a positive and professional experience at all times.

THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 12 MONTHS DUE TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE

Main Duties

  • Ensure all patients are processed in accordance with internal and national targets, providing essential reception meet‑and‑greet service and processing request forms for radiology.
  • Welcome patients and visitors to a busy reception desk, maintaining data quality.
  • Process referrals in a timely fashion across radiology in ABUHB.
  • Liaise with other team members to keep waiting times to a minimum, working with the radiology referral and booking manager and booking service team.
  • Maintain a professional and friendly face‑to‑face and telephone manner.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
