Job title: Cardiology PACS Support Manager

Location: Royal Gwent Hospital, Cardiff Road, Newport NP20 2UB. Band 5. Fixed term/secondment for 12 months to cover maternity leave. Part-time.

Summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated Cardiology PACS Support Manager to join our busy directorate team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the day-to-day system administration of the cardiology Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS), Computerised Cardiology Information System and related systems to support the clinical team and patient care.
  • Support the Cardiology Clinical IT Systems Manager with the purchase and evaluation of new systems, implement changes and help ensure the cardiology imaging and reporting system remains functional and meets clinical needs.
  • Assist the Cardiology Clinical IT Manager, Directorate Manager and Operational Services Manager in planning and implementing operational initiatives in line with local and national strategies.
  • Provide statistical data for audits (local and national), investigate clinical incidents as required, and develop service performance reports for stakeholders to improve processes and services across the directorate and division.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Essential: Good Education & IT knowledge.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of PACS Systems/Performance Reporting; Knowledge of DICOM / fault prioritisation and management; Performance reporting; IG/policy awareness within Clinical IT environment; Welsh language skills desirable.

Experience

  • Experience working with Cardiology/Radiology PACS systems.
  • Experience in implementing projects, change management; competent in Microsoft operating systems and NHS IT systems and data; performance management, monitoring, quality and audit; training and compiling training material; complaint management; operational management knowledge and understanding of acute services.

Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent IT, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to integrate IT systems; strong presentation skills; methodical and able to work independently or as part of a team; capable leadership in challenging situations.
  • Self-motivated, flexible approach; willing to work unsocial hours; approachable, professional and confidential; able to promote the service.
  • Desirable: Ability to speak Welsh.
