The predicted salary is between 29970 - 36483 £ per year.
The successful post holder will be a highly motivated team player ideally with previous medical secretarial experience and possess sound administrative and clerical skills. Excellent computer literacy is essential for the role, which will include the use of Microsoft Office packages, Med Secs, CWS and relevant databases. You will be highly organised, self‑motivated, have a flexible approach to work and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. A clear understanding of patient confidentiality and being able to work to deadlines is also required.
The role will include general support of typing including audio typing, digital dictation and administrative duties, including cover for colleagues at times of service need.
Responsibilities- Typing correspondence, clinic letters and reports accurately and within time limits set by departmental standards, requiring a high degree of keyboard skills, medical terminology and secretarial procedures.
- Audio typing any other correspondence as required, including letters and reports related to all aspects of surgery; this may involve typing letters of a distressing nature.
- Keeping consultants’ diaries electronically, arranging meetings as and when required, and ensuring consultants are fully briefed of any upcoming commitments.
- Monitoring sickness absence on behalf of the Clinical Director.
- Taking minutes of departmental meetings and coordinating meetings, requiring clear and concise communication.
- Administering advertising and payment of courses and conferences run by the department.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
