A vacancy for a Higher Medical Laboratory Assistant position has arisen in a very busy Microbiology Laboratory based at the Royal Gwent Hospital, with additional services on The Grange University Hospital, Cwmbran and Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny. The Department processes a wide variety of clinical samples using both manual and automated methodology.
Responsibilities:
- Register request forms onto the LIMS system
- Prepare samples for processing
- Use automation
- Stock control, handling and receipting deliveries, replenishing stock
- Cleaning equipment
- Electronically order consumables
- At Nevill Hall, make patient appointments and provide advice on sample collection
Working pattern:
The hours of work will be 37.5 hours over a 7 day working week, with evenings, night shifts, weekends.
