Opportunity Overview

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is currently offering a permanent Band 7 Emergency Department Nurse to cover 24/7 emergency nursing care and management responsibilities. In addition, a new opportunity has arisen to offer a Band 7 Sister/Charge Nurse within the Urgent Care Directorate for the Emergency Department at Grange University Hospital.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead the emergency nursing team and ensure patient-centred care is delivered from arrival to discharge.
  • Support, teach and make decisions for patients’ journeys and promote staff wellbeing.
  • Provide high standard quality care and demonstrate emergency nursing assessment and clinical skills.
  • Give support and advice to patients and their families/carers.
  • Facilitate safe, effective and timely discharges of patients.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Band 7 band with experience in emergency nursing.
  • Leadership and decision‑making skills in an acute setting.
  • Strong communication, teamwork and resilience.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and safety standards.
  • Welsh language speaking desirable; Welsh and/or English equal welcome to apply.
