This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established specialist roofing and cladding contractor delivering technically demanding packages across a range of live construction projects.
You will become part of a busy, supportive buying team, helping to keep projects moving by ensuring materials, plant and equipment are ordered accurately and delivered to site on time.
This role would suit an organised and commercially minded administrator who wants to develop into a construction Buyer.
The Role You will support the buying team with
- Raising and processing purchase orders
- Tracking deliveries and updating project teams
- Confirming prices, lead times and availability with suppliers
- Maintaining accurate procurement and supplier records
- Assisting with quotation comparisons
- Resolving routine delivery and invoice queries
- Arranging returns for damaged or incorrect materials
- Updating internal spreadsheets and purchasing systems
- Liaising with suppliers, site teams and Project Managers About You You will be organised, accurate and confident communicating by phone and email.
Previous experience in administration, purchasing, stock control or customer service would be beneficial.
Construction experience is not essential, provided you are keen to learn and develop.
You should have
- Strong attention to detail
- Good Microsoft Excel, Word and email skills
- A proactive and organised approach
- Confidence dealing with suppliers and internal teams
- The ability to manage several tasks at once
- An interest in construction, buying or supply-chain management
