Facade Manager – Large Mixed-Use Development We are working with a leading Tier 1 main contractor delivering a large project in King’s Cross — this is a landmark, mixed-use development in one of London’s most prominent regeneration locations. The Project The scheme comprises a major new-build development incorporating high-quality commercial space, residential accommodation and public realm, with complex interfaces across structure, MEP, internal fit-out and façade packages. It is a high-profile project with a substantial, design-led envelope and requires someone capable of maintaining momentum across a demanding delivery programme. They are seeking an experienced Façade Manager to take ownership of a complex façade package and drive its delivery onsite. This is an initial six-month contract, paid on a CIS basis. There is strong potential for the requirement to extend beyond this period and, for the right individual, develop into a permanent opportunity. This is a delivery-focused role for someone who can maintain production momentum, coordinate key interfaces and ensure façade works are installed safely, correctly and to the required quality standard. Key responsibilities * Take day-to-day ownership of façade delivery, driving progress from installation through to completion and handover. * Coordinate façade subcontractors, site management, design teams and other trade interfaces to maintain a safe, efficient workflow. * Monitor installation quality, sequencing, access, logistics and labour levels to ensure production targets and programme dates are achieved. * Identify technical, design or buildability issues early; raise these with the relevant consultants, client team and design management function, and follow them through to resolution. * Review drawings, specifications, technical submissions, samples and inspection/test plans to ensure works are delivered in line with approved information. * Manage key interfaces including structure, SFS, windows, curtain walling, cladding, roofing, fire-stopping, internal finishes and MEP penetrations. * Lead regular façade progress meetings and provide clear updates on progress, risks, quality issues and required decisions. * Carry out inspections and ensure quality records, snagging, testing and compliance documentation are completed correctly. * Ensure all works comply with health and safety requirements, relevant façade standards, manufacturer requirements and project quality procedures. * Support commissioning, testing, water-tightness activities and handover of the façade package. Candidate requirements * Proven experience as a Façade Manager, Package Manager or Site Manager delivering major façade packages for a main contractor or specialist façade contractor. * Experience on large, complex residential, commercial or mixed-use developments. * Strong technical understanding of curtain walling, cladding, glazing, SFS, windows, roofing interfaces and fire-stopping requirements. * Confident reading and challenging technical drawings, specifications and installation details. * Able to take control onsite, coordinate multiple parties and keep subcontractors focused on production and programme. * Comfortable escalating technical concerns appropriately and working closely with consultants, client representatives and design teams to secure timely solutions. * Strong communication, planning and reporting skills. * SMSTS, CSCS and relevant construction qualifications required; CWCT knowledge or façade-specific qualifications would be advantageous. This role would suit a proactive, hands-on and technically credible façade professional who can take real ownership of onsite delivery on a flagship King’s Cross scheme from day one.
