About the Company
Our client is an established and growing Hard Facilities Management (FM) provider, delivering specialist engineering and maintenance services across Yorkshire, the Northwest and wider UK.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Cellar Cooling / Refrigeration Technician to join their mobile engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified refrigeration engineer looking for a varied mobile role, working across commercial and public-sector environments and specialising in cellar cooling, refrigeration and associated systems.
You'll be joining a technically capable and service-focused organisation where quality, compliance and customer service are at the heart of the business.
The Package
- 37.5-hour standard working week
- Company work vehicle provided
- Paid travel time after the first and last 30 minutes of each working day
- £150 standby payment for participating in the call-out rota
- Day-to-day (D2D) travel time paid when on call-out
- Overtime paid at 1.5x for hours worked above 37.5 hours per week

The Role
As a Cellar Cooling / Refrigeration Technician, you will provide planned and reactive maintenance across a range of customer sites.
Your role will include
- Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
- Completing reactive repairs, fault finding and installation works
• Working on
- Cellar cooling and beer/beverage cooling systems
- Split and multi-split refrigeration systems
- Small commercial refrigeration equipment
- Heat pumps and condensers
- Associated electrical controls and safety devices
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs
- Performance testing, commissioning and service checks
- Responding promptly to reactive call-outs from the Helpdesk
- Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota
- Providing accurate quotations for installation and repair works
- Identifying non-repairable equipment and reporting findings and recommendations to the Contract Manager
- Travelling to various customer sites as required
- Working within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Updating the CAFM system with work progress and completion details
- Maintaining accurate records and certification
- Working in line with health & safety, F-Gas and environmental requirements
- Representing the company professionally when dealing with customers and colleagues
About You
We're looking for an experienced Refrigeration / Air Conditioning Engineer or Cellar Cooling Technician who is confident diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs and working independently.
You will ideally have
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning – essential
- F-Gas Category 2 – essential
- CSCS or ECS Card – desirable
- Previous experience working with refrigeration and cooling systems
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Good knowledge of F-Gas, health & safety and environmental compliance
- The ability to work independently and use your own initiative
- Good problem-solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- IT literacy, including the ability to use CAFM or similar systems
- A full UK driving licence
- A flexible and self-motivated approach
- A strong customer-service focus
- Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota
