Andy File Associates Limited is working as a Recruitment Agency on behalf of our client with regards to this permanent part-time position. Our client is a well-established leading firm of solicitors based in Sheffield. They are a forward-thinking organisation and one of the leading law firms in South Yorkshire, well known for delivering excellent levels of client care.

The successful Legal Secretary will provide integral administrative support to the Head of Department and fee earners within the Clinical Negligence team. You will be responsible for being the person who the claim handlers go to, to manage their time and paperwork and be the first point of contact for enquiries related to their cases. This is ideal for candidates with secretarial experience in legal or other professional service roles. This role is working part-time, 28 hours over 4 days per week.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Producing high quality and timely correspondence, responding to telephone calls and email enquiries, completing forms and preparing Court documents and electronic bundles.
  • Undertaking audio and copy typing of letters and documents, undertaking diary management tasks, dealing with file opening processes and invoicing and billing procedures.
  • Experience of or ability to administer and progress cases using the company's CRM/Management System is essential.
  • Candidates must have experience in working in a secretarial role, ideally within a legal or Personal Injury department with experience in Clinical Negligence or with litigation experience and an understanding of the relevant Court processes.
  • Demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a confident and proactive approach, and the ability to apply a high level of attention to detail in their work.

  • Performing audio typing and transcribing legal documents.
  • Providing administrative support, such as scheduling and correspondence.
  • Assisting the Team Leader and Fee Earners with document preparation and organisational tasks.
