This is an exciting chance to join a thriving business in Doncaster. Our client has experienced rapid growth, expanding to new premises and taking on new members of staff over all departments. There is now a new opportunity available to join the Fabrication Department. We are looking for an experienced Welder. This role shall cover all duties in the fabrication department. This role reports into the Workshop Manager and is working on a four day working week. You will be required to do a weld test at interview stage.
Duties to include:
- Mig welding essential
- Welding and fabrication chassis conversions – for example tipper beds.
- Welding and fabrication cage style vehicles.
- Welding and fabrication of other forms of vehicle related equipment, trailers and storage.
- Welding for our manufacturing plant (mild steel).
- General upkeep of the workshop area and premises to aid with the smooth running of the workshop and conversion of vehicles.
- Ad hoc duties as and when required.
Competencies and skills:
- Accuracy in all tasks and measurements and a high grade of work.
- Proven background in welding and fabrication.
- Be able to look after and care for any company tooling and equipment used especially the welding equipment.
- Must be able to adjust the welding machines as required.
- Be able to use chop saws and have knowledge of health and safety regarding all saws and guillotines.
- Be able to follow and understand technical drawings.
- MIG welding.
- Aluminum welding/TIG welding would be an advantage.
- Effective communication and positive relations with employees at all levels within the organization.
- Be competent at working alone or as part of a team.
- Integrity.
- Confidentiality regarding all processes, data and information contained and discussed in the department.
- Be aware of all Company policies and Health and Safety procedures and practices.
Hours of work: This role is working a 4 day week Monday to Thursday 06.30 - 17.00
