Andy File Associates Limited is working as a Recruitment Business on behalf of our client with regards this temporary position.
We are currently seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Commercial Administrator to join the Supply Sales Department of a Sheffield-based engineering company on a temporary basis. This role is heavily focused on Excel spreadsheet work and administrative support, requiring the ability to manage, input, and interpret complex data accurately. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting supply sales, production control, and planning activities, ensuring data integrity and smooth front-end commercial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining, updating, and analysing Excel spreadsheets with a high level of accuracy
- Providing administrative support to the Supply Sales and Production Control teams
- Inputting sales and customer data accurately onto NAV
- Issuing works orders to technical and production control teams
- Completing sales contract reviews on receipt of orders
- Supporting planning for production orders alongside the Commercial Planner
- Enquiring with suppliers regarding price and material availability
- Raising material purchase orders and expediting materials when required
- Ensuring all information is recorded accurately and in line with internal procedures
- Identifying discrepancies in data and resolving them promptly
- Controlling and measuring adherence to front-end processes against agreed KPIs
- Supporting export compliance administration when required
- Liaising frequently with customer liaison teams to provide information for internal and external customers
- Maintaining confidentiality and a “right first time” approach to all tasks
- Providing cover for other roles within Supply Sales and Production departments when required
- Undertaking any other duties reasonably required by management
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong Excel skills, including data input and spreadsheet management
- Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach
- Good telephone and communication skills
- Customer service awareness
- Proactive approach with the ability to work under own initiative
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Experience in planning and managing workload
Desirable:
- Basic understanding of production, or engineering environments
- Continuous improvement mindset
