Andy File Associates Limited is working as a Recruitment Agency on behalf of our client for this permanent position of Area Sales Manager.

Location: London & Surrounding Areas

Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 (depending on experience)

The Role

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the Area Sales Manager will play a key role in driving business growth across the UK. You will maximise existing channels while identifying and developing new opportunities, particularly within the hospitality and contract sectors. This is a dynamic, field-based role requiring strong relationship management, commercial awareness, and a proactive approach to business development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies in collaboration with the National Sales Manager
  • Drive growth within the hospitality, hotel, and contracts sectors
  • Manage and grow existing accounts, ensuring regular engagement
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across the UK
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers
  • Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events
  • Develop and manage a strong project pipeline aligned with sales targets
  • Maintain and expand approved supplier agreements with hotel groups, architects, and interior designers
  • Ensure effective internal communication to support project delivery
  • Manage customer issues professionally, ensuring high satisfaction levels
  • Visit project sites when required to support sales processes

  • Follow company processes and maintain high-quality standards
  • Contribute ideas to improve efficiency, product quality, and performance

Health & Safety

  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures

General Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed KPIs and sales targets
  • Adhere to all company policies, including Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
  • Maintain a flexible approach to working hours, including attending events when required

Knowledge & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven success in a Sales Manager or similar role
  • Experience within the lighting and/or hospitality industry
  • Strong understanding of marketing strategies, including social media
  • Good technical knowledge

Desirable:

  • Experience managing and motivating teams
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes

  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong commercial awareness and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Proven ability to generate new business and exceed targets
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach
  • Ability to travel frequently across the UK and Ireland
  • Flexible approach to working hours

Desirable:

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Relevant qualifications in business, marketing, or related fields

Benefits

  • Bonus structure: 5% of salary upon achieving agreed sales targets
  • Additional scaled bonus for exceeding targets (details TBC)
  • Additional 5% bonus if company achieves PBT
  • Car allowance (open to discussion, particularly for London-based candidates)
  • 24 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing to 28 days after 5 years’ service)
  • Pension: Auto-enrolment
