A growing family office is hiring a hands-on Management Accountant to own the monthly management accounts alongside budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting and finance systems. The role works across the UK and Greece, so Greek language skills are highly preferential. Suits a qualified accountant who takes ownership and flags issues rather than just processing numbers.
This is a broad and hands-on position with responsibility for the monthly management accounts process alongside budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting and finance systems. The successful candidate will suit someone who enjoys taking ownership, is comfortable working in a fast-moving environment and can identify potential issues rather than simply processing the numbers.
Key responsibilities:- Take ownership of the monthly management accounts process including accruals, prepayments, variance analysis, intercompany reconciliations and management commentary.
- Produce clear and accurate reporting for senior stakeholders.
- Support the annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes.
- Monitor cash requirements and understand the impact of activity across the balance sheet and cash flow.
- Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and the year-end audit.
- Work closely with the external auditors and other professional advisers.
- Support the continued development and improvement of finance processes and controls.
- Build and maintain reports and dashboards within Power BI.
- Investigate variances, resolve accounting issues and follow matters through to completion.
- Support wider finance projects and ad hoc reporting requirements as the business continues to grow.
- Qualified accountant, ideally ACA, ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent qualification.
- Fluent Greek and English language skills.
- Experience preparing monthly management accounts.
- Good understanding of accruals, intercompany accounting, cash flow and balance sheet movements.
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse and clearly present financial information.
