The Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Forklift Driver / Yard Foreman to join our team. This is a hands-on role combining forklift operation, stock management, yard supervision, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a counterbalance forklift to load and unload vehicles.
- Organise and maintain timber stock within the yard.
- Supervise daily yard operations and assist in managing yard staff.
- Pick and prepare customer orders accurately.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed.
- Conduct routine vehicle and equipment checks.
- Assist customers and delivery drivers professionally.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and efficient working yard.
Requirements
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential).
- Previous experience within a timber merchant, builders' merchant, or similar environment desirable, however not essential.
- Strong knowledge of timber products also desirable, however not essential.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
