Some people work in support services. Some people genuinely change outcomes. This role is for the second type. We’re supporting a growing charity that helps people with criminal convictions rebuild their lives through meaningful support, practical pathways and long-term reintegration. They are now looking for an experienced Senior Caseworker to help lead the service while managing complex cases directly. This is not a “move people through the system” type of role. It’s hands‑on, emotionally demanding and incredibly rewarding work with people who often arrive carrying years of trauma, instability and barriers that most never see. You’ll need resilience. Strong boundaries. Proper casework experience. And the ability to build trust with people who may not trust many others. But if you’re the kind of practitioner who leans into the difficult cases rather than avoids them, this could be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing your own complex caseload of clients with criminal convictions
  • Delivering trauma‑informed one‑to‑one support focused on reducing reoffending and creating sustainable change
  • Leading, supervising and supporting a team of caseworkers to ensure high‑quality delivery across the service
  • Completing risk and needs assessments alongside tailored support plans that genuinely reflect individual circumstances
  • Working closely with probation, prison services, housing providers and external agencies to coordinate joined‑up support
  • Supporting clients through the real‑world barriers that impact reintegration, including housing, employment, substance misuse and family relationships
  • Maintaining accurate case records and contributing to service reporting, outcomes and impact measurement
  • Identifying gaps, raising standards and helping embed best practice across the wider team
