An established industrial business is seeking an experienced Mechanical Plant Fitter to support the maintenance and reliability of their production site. This is a hands-on role suited to an engineer who enjoys fault finding, problem solving and working on large-scale plant and equipment within a fast-paced operational environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring production assets remain safe, reliable and available, whilst contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

The Role

Reporting into the Engineering Team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of fixed and mobile plant equipment across a heavy industrial environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to mechanical breakdowns and restoring plant safely and efficiently
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance activities
  • Diagnosing faults and implementing long-term engineering solutions
  • Maintaining conveyors, crushers, screens, pumps, gearboxes, motors and associated plant equipment
  • Performing welding, fabrication and mechanical repair work
  • Supporting shutdowns, inspections and maintenance projects
  • Working closely with operational teams, contractors and suppliers
  • Recording maintenance activities using maintenance management systems
  • Promoting high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance

  • A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement
  • The ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
