Sales Director – Retail

Are you an experienced Sales Director or senior commercial leader with a strong background in retail, FMCG, consumer products, point-of-sale, display, manufacturing or a similar customer-led environment?
We are recruiting for a commercially driven Sales Director to lead growth across a retail-focused business, developing major customer relationships, building new opportunities and helping shape the next phase of commercial growth.
This is a senior role for someone who combines strategic thinking with a genuine appetite for winning business.
The Role
- Lead commercial strategy across key retail markets
- Develop and grow major customer relationships
- Identify and convert new business opportunities
- Build a strong and sustainable sales pipeline
- Lead commercial negotiations with senior decision-makers
- Develop account-growth strategies across existing customers
- Work closely with operational, production and commercial teams
- Analyse market trends, competitors and emerging opportunities
- Provide accurate forecasting and commercial reporting
- Lead, coach and develop the sales function
- Support pricing, margin and commercial decision-making
What We’re Looking For
- Significant senior sales or commercial leadership experience
- Strong track record of winning and growing major accounts
- Experience selling into retail or closely related markets
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder-management skills
- Commercially astute with strong understanding of margin and profitability
- Proven leadership capability
- Strategic thinker who is equally comfortable being hands-on
- Strong communication and presentation skills
