Job Description: Associate Mechanical Engineer (Healthcare) Location: London We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our London office working as part of a leading independent consulting engineering firm. Our London team is a dynamic hub of activity home to MEP engineers and a variety of other specialist groups offering broad experience across multiple sectors. The Role: As an Associate Engineer you ll support and deliver designs for a range of project types and sizes primarily in the Healthcare sector. Working within a multidisciplinary team you ll provide consistent highquality service to clients helping to secure repeat business and achieve profitability. The role is crucial for developing a technically skilled team and exploring new business opportunities in this highperforming sector. What You ll Be Doing: Serve as a clientfacing engineer attending project meetings and conveying project briefs to the team. Lead the development of initial strategic concepts ensuring compliance with project briefs and regulatory standards. Ensure solid technical delivery whether working independently or as part of a team. Mentor junior staff helping them grow their skills and reach their potential. Work with the team leader to monitor financial aspects including fee expenditure and resource allocation. Stay ahead of industry trends through innovation and research. Maintain a strong reputation in the industry adhering to quality management and risk control procedures. Requirements About You: Relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification with Chartered Engineer status or working towards it. Membership of CIBSE/IMechE or similar industryrecognized institution. Strong technical knowledge in your primary discipline and a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design. Competency in modern technical delivery methods particularly in BIM environments. Experience in leading motivating and supervising teams in a multidisciplinary environment. Proven communication and negotiation skills with a background in consultancy and an appreciation of complementary specialisms like acoustics and fire engineering. What We Are Looking For: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering is preferred. Chartered status or progress towards it with CIBSE/IMechE or equivalent. Previous experience in M&E Design & Specification Surveying & Reporting and Project Management. Proven experience in Healthcare projects and working in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. What We re Looking For: Experience: Minimum of 5 years (excluding training) in electronic security and life safety systems with an NSI Gold accredited company. Technical Skills: Proficient in installing, commissioning, maintaining, and fault-finding on various security systems. Knowledge: Familiarity with brands such as Honeywell, Menvier, Texecom, Paxton, Videx, C-Tec, Advanced, Morley, Hikvision, Hanwha, and Avigilon. IT & Networking: Strong understanding of IT, networking, electrical, and electronic principles. Availability: Willingness to join the 24-hour call-out rota. Additional Skills: Self-managed with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good judgment and decision-making skills under time constraints. Excellent vehicle stock control and organizational skills. Adherence to health and safety policies. Proficient in completing audit paperwork and job sheets. Clean driving license and a professional attitude.
