We are recruiting for a hands-on Metalwork Supervisor to lead a night-shift production team within a busy manufacturing environment in Harlow. This is a practical leadership role for someone who understands the demands of metalwork production and can organise people, maintain quality standards and keep production moving safely and efficiently.
The Role
As Metalwork Supervisor, you will take responsibility for overseeing the night-shift metalwork team and ensuring production priorities are completed to the required quality, safety and output standards. Your duties will include:
- Supervising the night-shift metalwork and fabrication team
- Allocating work and managing daily production priorities
- Monitoring output, productivity and quality
- Supporting press brake, sheet-metal and fabrication operations
- Ensuring components are produced to engineering drawings and specifications
- Supporting operators where technical or production problems arise
- Monitoring machine, tooling and equipment requirements
- Working with maintenance teams to resolve machinery issues
- Supporting the training and development of team members
- Monitoring team performance and production progress
- Reporting outstanding actions and operational issues
- Ensuring good housekeeping standards across the production area
The successful Metalwork Supervisor will be expected to remain visible and hands-on within the production environment, supporting the team while ensuring work is delivered safely, accurately and efficiently.
