How You'll Help Us Connect the World:
As a Senior RF Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of new microwave parabolic antenna designs and cost optimization of the existing product for local manufacturing. You will provide real-time solutions to design issues discovered in the manufacturing process and recommend/document the resolution. This role will be based in Kirkcaldy, Scotland.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Responsible for the design, development, evaluation and analysis, applying engineering principles for microwave components and/or antenna systems.
- Performing component level design and supporting initial testing.
- Developing and executing product procedures for production testing and supporting integrating plans for new or updated products.
- Demonstrating an innovative, dynamic hands-on approach to problem solving and designing through product qualification to manufacturing.
- Representing the business unit on projects both locally and globally as a technical leader.
- Acting as a key member/technical leader within a project team with responsibility for coordinating the work of other personnel involved in design testing and prototype fabrication.
- Independently devising new approaches and solutions to solve problems.
- Reviewing work at appropriate milestones to ensure that overall objectives are being met.
- Testing/evaluating competing products and technologies.
- Investigating and troubleshooting on prototypes and any issues on current product.
- Preparing part specifications.
- Researching and evaluating potential vendors and making recommendations to the final vendor selection.
Working closely with our R enthusiastic, self-motivated, creative and able to work independently. Ability to regularly contact, influence and negotiate with both internal and external individuals on complex issues and respond to inquiries and complaints with tact and diplomacy. Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a flexible and willing manner. Experience working on complex projects and taking on project leadership responsibilities. Proficient in English – good verbal, written and inter-personal communication skills.
You Will Excite Us If You:
- Have experience in Microwave Antenna, RF design of reflector antenna systems and/or waveguide components such as transitions, OMTs and couplers at microwave frequencies.
- Have knowledge of typical manufacturing processes and designing parts to suit Test Support for production.
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving and communication skills to understand customer requirements and deliver results that meet customer requirements.
