The Role

As a Trainee Assistant Site Manager, you'll work alongside experienced Site Managers, learning how to successfully manage busy residential construction sites.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Assisting with the day-to-day running of live housing developments.
  • Supporting the Site Manager to deliver homes safely, on programme and to a high standard.
  • Coordinating subcontractors and monitoring progress on site.
  • Carrying out quality inspections and snagging.
  • Promoting excellent health and safety practices.
  • Learning construction programmes, sequencing and site logistics.
  • Ensuring high standards of workmanship are maintained throughout the build.

This is a hands-on role offering genuine career progression into Assistant Site Manager and beyond.

About You

We're looking for someone who

  • Holds a valid CSCS Card.
  • Has experience working in a construction trade or on residential building sites.
  • Is eager to move from a trade into site management.
  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Is enthusiastic, reliable and keen to learn.
  • Takes pride in delivering quality work and maintaining high safety standards.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and is happy to travel between sites across Cambridgeshire.

Applications are welcomed from trades such as carpentry, bricklaying, groundworks, painting and decorating, drylining, roofing, plastering or any other construction background where you've gained valuable site experience.
