Set in the heart of one of the most picturesque Cotswold villages, The Slaughters Country Inn offers the authentic charm of a traditional village inn. With 5 AA Gold Stars for Guest Accommodation and 2 AA rosettes, the inn provides a relaxed yet professional environment for staff, including free on-site parking.

We are seeking a Sous Chef to work alongside the Head Chef in a busy kitchen, creating exciting and delicious dishes for guests. The ideal candidate has experience in a similar environment, strong culinary skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and service.

Responsibilities:

  • Put knife skills to the test by cooking with the finest ingredients.
  • Keep up to date with the latest allergen training and writing the allergen matrix with the Head Chef.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and enforce cleaning responsibilities among all staff.
  • Label food accurately and keep track of stock to avoid spoilage.
  • Share knowledge with junior staff, including Junior Sous, CDP’s, KP’s, and Commis.
  • Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.
  • Ensure timely ordering of supplies via Procure Wizard.
