Andrew Black Design is a design-led architectural practice established in 2002.

We’re looking for a Senior Architect with a minimum of 5 years' post-Part 3 experience to join our dynamic and growing practice.
This is a senior position offering opportunities for progression to Associate or Director for the right candidate.
The role
You’ll work across a diverse and exciting portfolio, including high-end private residential, rural social housing, conservation projects, and work for the MOD.
The role is preferably full time, but we’d be open to a reduced role to suit candidates, with a minimum of 3 days.
You’ll be client-facing and confident taking projects from inception through planning, building warrant, tender and contract administration. You will also:
- Develop strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
- Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams.
- Contribute to bids, fee proposals and business development.
- Collaborate with colleagues and consultants to deliver high-quality projects.
About you
We’re seeking an experienced Architect with a broad understanding of different building types.
A commercially-minded candidate interested in developing and growing the business would be particularly well suited.
You will have
- A minimum of 5 years' post-Part 3 experience.
- Strong experience delivering projects through the full architectural process.
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Auto CAD (essential).
- Working knowledge of Revit (preferred).
- Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Working knowledge of NBS (desirable).
- Experience working on listed building projects (desirable).
- Experience with BREEAM/DREAM (desirable).
- A proactive approach and an ambition to progress within the practice.
