As a Senior RF Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of new microwave parabolic antenna designs and cost optimization of existing products for local manufacturing. This role will be based in Kirkcaldy, Scotland. You will provide real‑time solutions to design issues discovered in the manufacturing process and recommend or document the resolution.

- Responsible for the design, development, evaluation and analysis, applying engineering principles for microwave components and/or antenna systems.
- Performing component level design and supporting initial testing.
- Developing and executing product procedures for production testing and supporting integrating plans for new or updated products.
- Demonstrating an innovative, dynamic hands‑on approach to problem solving and designing through product qualification to manufacturing.
- Representing the business unit on projects both locally and globally as a technical leader.
- Acting as a key member / technical leader within a project team with responsibility for coordinating the work of other personnel involved in design testing and prototype fabrication.
- Independently devising new approaches and solutions to solve problems.
- Reviewing work at appropriate milestones to ensure that overall objectives are being met.
- Testing / evaluating competing products and technologies.
- Investigating and troubleshooting on prototypes and any issues on current product.
- Preparing part specifications.
- Researching and evaluating potential vendors and making recommendations to the final vendor selection.
- Working closely with our R&D centers in the UK, China, and USA.
- Staying informed on current RF/systems development and researching new technologies.
- Documenting procedures / processes related RF production testing.
- Supporting the Sales Team and Product Line Management by assisting in the preparation of bids, proposals and request for quote for current and potential customers.
- Developing technical solutions / product designs to serve customer requirements.
- Adhering to Health, Safety & Environmental and other Standards as the Process & Legislation dictates.
- Global travel to provide technical support to our production, vendor and customer base.
Required Qualifications For Consideration
- Master's or Bachelor’s in a related discipline such as Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (specialization in RF) with more than 12 years of work experience.
- Design experience utilizing electromagnetic design software such as CST Studio Suite, HFSS, QuickWave or GRASP.
- Experience in setting up and carrying out S‑parameter tests on microwave components using Network Analyzers and creating test fixtures to support high volume production.
- Knowledge in manufacturing processes and technologies to support factory and part evaluations.
- Proactive team player within the Department; enthusiastic, self‑motivated, creative and able to work independently.
- Ability to regularly contact, influence and negotiate with both internal and external individuals on complex issues and respond to inquiries and complaints with tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a flexible and willing manner.
- Experience working on complex projects and taking on project leadership responsibilities.
- Proficiency in English – good verbal, written and inter‑personal communication skills.
