JOB: Senior Quality Engineer
LOCATION: Reading
TERM: Permanent
SALARY: £45,000-£50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer on a permanent basis near the Reading area to work closely with manufacturing, product development, and customer service as a key resource to develop internal manufacturing and service processes with the aim of improving quality, delivery, cost performance, and continuous improvement.

The Senior Quality Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

  1. Degree qualified or experience working in a similar role
  2. 5 years experience in a Manufacturing Environment
  3. Certified Lead auditor
  4. Experience in Automotive, Defence, or Pharmaceutical sectors beneficial
  5. Self-motivated individual
  6. Right first time approach
  7. Ability to work calmly under pressure

The Senior Quality Engineer role will involve:

  1. Drive standardisation on processes along with waste elimination and continuous improvement
  2. Hands-on role investigating NCR\’s
  3. Establish short & long term goals with PDCA methodology
  4. Drive zero defect mentality in the process
  5. Resolve customer issues in a timely manner
  6. Champion problem solving with the use of RCA tools such as 8D, 5WHY, ISHIKAWA, FMEA\’s
  7. Lead internal audits
  8. Monitor supplier performance, define process parameters to ensure process capability
  9. Monitor output, quality & scrap rates. Improving OTD performance
  10. Maintain records of products and approved suppliers
  11. Continually improve QMS processes
