Overview
The role will involve identifying bottlenecks and eliminating non‑value‑added activities, making improvements to productivity, cost, quality and health & safety.

Salary: £50,000–£55,000 (dependent on experience)
Responsibilities
- Work on both existing and new R&D projects
- Create and maintain controlled documentation such as process flows, tool drawings, component specifications, BOMs and work instructions
- Work closely with the Lean team to develop and implement best practices, routines and solutions to improve production rates, quality and output
- Develop innovative manufacturing solutions for parts, designing jigs and fixtures where necessary
- Assemble and wire electro‑mechanical assemblies in accordance with assembly drawings, BOMs and wiring/schematic drawings
- Participate in NPI reviews to ensure only the most production‑efficient designs are released into production
- Deliver continuous improvement, operational excellence and lean improvements
- Identify and present ideas for improving production processes to enhance profitability, quality, throughput or H&S
Qualifications
- HND/HNC qualified or equivalent experience in engineering, science or a related field
- Experience as a production engineer within product development in a similar environment
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Experience using 2D/3D CAD (beneficial)
- Proactive, hands‑on problem solver
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Ability to work well individually and as part of a team
- Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
