We are looking for a Business Development Manager based in the Middlesex area with strong knowledge in the Aerospace & Defence industry in a precision machining environment. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who will hunt out new opportunities, qualify them and create new relationships to support this activity in line with the company's aggressive growth plans.
The Business Development Manager will ideally have the following attributes:
- Degree educated in Engineering or relevant Aerospace/Defence industry beneficial
- Capable of managing information, organising and planning

- Great communication with impact on paper and in person
- Results driven and detail focused
- Natural communicator with ability to influence

The Business Development Manager role will involve:
- Identifying target markets and new customers
- Developing relationships with key customers in order to identify and qualify new opportunities
- Driving commercially strategic behaviours in other departments to ensure robustness of offerings
- Creating price build up, using expert inputs estimating functions and presenting this for endorsement as part of bid review process
- Chairing relevant bid and contract reviews
- Compiling bid metrics for reporting into the business
- Conducting handovers to programmes on receipt of PO via contract review forum
- Being the customer liaison, reporting on project status, schedule, and risks
- Communicating with the customer on technical matters, calling for support from experts as needed
- Monitoring and reporting bid deadlines
- Occasional international and domestic travel for project reviews on customer sites
