My client is looking for an Operations Director to join their business on a permanent basis in the Flintshire area. The candidate will develop & implement strategic plans and oversee day to day operations of the company working closely with the UK Sites Manufacturing Director to implement the company's visions and strategic plans. The ideal candidate will come from a high-precision manufacturing environment with exposure to a regulated industry being beneficial.
The Operations Director will ideally have the following attributes:
- Degree qualified or equivalent work based experience
- Experienced working within a fast paced environment with a hands on approach
- Proven experience in climbing up the corporate ladder
- Engineering, Operations and Process Implementation experience
- Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, self starter who is consultative and adaptable
The Operations Director role will involve:
- Assessing, reviewing and improving operational processes and procedures in line with company objectives and delivery contracts
- Implementing systems to measure the effectiveness of all company related processes, internal and external, applying cost effective measures and providing timely, accurate and complete performance data reports on the operating condition of the company
- Managing all KPIs and reporting to senior stakeholders on performance levels
- Formulating, implementing, monitoring and reviewing the company's Health & Safety policy and procedures including risk assessments
- Providing leadership to create an environment that motivates people, communicating effectively and ensuring that they are fully aware of what is expected of them, also to encourage and recognise their efforts
- Liaising with all departments to ensure service delivery is achieved on time, in full, in accordance with budget and quality standards, to fulfil the customers' expectations and with the most effective use of company resources
- Overseeing and ensuring that the methods and procedures used comply with ISO 9001 and the company's QMS system. If not, making the case to change the procedures
- Management and coaching of operational team members including Production, Logistics, Procurement and Distribution
- Appraising staff annually, evaluating performance, assessing knowledge and skills, dealing and resolving problems arising
