An opportunity has arisen for a skilled and motivated Toolmaker to play a key role within a forward-thinking and innovative organization. This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, contributing to high-quality production processes.
Responsibilities
- Planning and executing work to meet production schedules and deadlines.
- Manufacturing tools based on design specifications and standards.
- Using precision tools such as micrometres, verniers, and gauges.
- Repairing, maintaining, and enhancing mould and press tooling.
- Conducting evaluations of repair jobs to ensure tools meet operational standards.
- Operating manual machinery, such as mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM sinkers.
- Performing benchwork and keeping tooling systems in good working condition.
- Adhering to Health and Safety regulations.
- Reporting any equipment issues to the line manager for resolution.
Qualifications
- Relevant engineering qualification or a time-served apprenticeship.
- Current Abrasive Wheels Regulations certification.
- Familiarity with hot runner systems, unscrewing mould tools, and progression strip tools.
- Laser welding experience (desirable but not mandatory).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer literacy for operational duties.
- A strong mechanical aptitude, coupled with a proactive mindset towards learning and skills development.
Day-to-Day
- Inspection and testing of tools to ensure they meet technical specifications.
- Collaboration with team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Management of multiple concurrent tasks while effectively addressing challenges.
- Staying informed of the latest industry technologies in moulding and manufacturing.
