An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company. This role offers the chance to play a key part in the production of innovative solutions for a range of markets.
We are seeking a dedicated professional to lead and manage Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with customer and industry standards while collaborating effectively with internal teams and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Leading and managing PPAP submissions for new product introductions (NPI), engineering changes, and supplier parts.
- Preparing, reviewing, and approving PPAP documents, including Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, Control Plans, dimensional layouts, material certificates, MSA, and capability studies.
- Maintaining PPAP records and customer communications, managing revisions, tracking approval status, and responding to customer feedback.
- Acting as the primary quality contact and customer interface for assigned projects.
- Promoting and ensuring successful PPAP submissions.
- Supporting customer and internal meetings to share development status and report customer requirements.
- Collaborating with internal departments (Sales, QA, Engineering, and Production) to meet project deadlines.
- Developing, writing, and enhancing processes, plans, and procedures in collaboration with Quality Management.
- Interpreting and communicating customer requirements within the organization.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding and ability to work with technical drawings and dimensionally measure parts using Non-Contact or Contact measurement equipment.
- Proficiency in APQP/PPAP processes and associated tools.
- Expertise in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Experience in preparing Control Plans, FMEAs, and all relevant PPAP documentation.
- Automotive experience in preparing PPAP/APQP documentation (preferred).
- Previous experience working with metal parts in the automotive sector (advantageous).
- Working knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements.
- Excellent reporting and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Day-to-Day
- Lead PPAP activities and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines.
- Communicate with customers and suppliers to address quality requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records for PPAP submissions.
- Support internal and external meetings to provide updates on project progress.
