We are looking for a Production Planning Manager on a permanent basis in the Middlesex area and will be responsible for the development of business processes in production and planning to facilitate better customer service, improve efficiency, reduce inventory and cost.
The Production Planning Manager will ideally have the following attributes:
- 3+ years experience of Production planning in a fast-paced environment
- Technical education or education in production planning and control
- Demonstrated proficiency of ERP/MRP systems
- Advanced Excel knowledge
- Energetic, enthusiastic and committed
- Ability to influence others
- Working understanding of 'Lean' production methodologies
The Production Planning Manager role will involve:
- Developing, maintaining and communicating the production plan to achieve and exceed on-time delivery targets.
- Managing the planning team.
- Overseeing the coordination between Sales, Production and Planning teams to ensure an effective overall plan is maintained.
- Ensuring that raw materials are received in line with schedule, production is planned to run in an efficient way and goods are dispatched on time and in full.
- Identifying any upcoming capacity issues and working closely with the relevant members of the team to offer solutions to these issues.
- Promoting an ethos of success and teamwork within the factory to ensure cooperation and successful collaboration between sales, planning and operations teams.
- Driving customer focus throughout the business, communicating customer requests and expediting works orders when required.
- Measuring and monitoring OTIF, driving improvement, targeting >95%.
- Ensuring that all team members are aware of team and personal targets and goals and are provided with regular feedback.
- Reviewing mid to long term forecast stability.
- Supporting continuous improvements on the line, developing and building on existing processes to improve production flow, on-time starts and inventory accuracy.
