We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team at our Measham facility. This is a permanent position offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to work on complex and precise mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, a high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Responsibilities
Assemble, adjust, and set fixtures and mechanical systems of our design, ensuring precision and quality. Identify and report snags, assisting in their rectification. Conduct testing, load testing, torque testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems. Install machinery, including siting and leveling, at customer sites such as JLR, BMW, Aston Martin, Tesla, and other automotive OEMs. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to high standards of quality and cleanliness. Qualifications
Apprentice Level 3 or equivalent in a mechanical engineering subject. Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role. Valid driving license with a relatively clean record. Possession of own tools. Forklift Truck (FLT) license. High attention to detail and quality. Desirable Skills : MIG and TIG welding experience. CNC and manual machining experience. Knowledge of pneumatic systems and electronics. MEWP ticket. Day-to-Day
Work independently to assemble and test mechanical systems. Collaborate with the team to ensure all systems meet quality standards. Travel to customer sites for installation and commissioning of machinery. Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any issues promptly. Benefits
Competitive hourly rate of £18-£20, depending on experience. 40-hour work week with potential for bonus payments at the manager\’s discretion. 21 days of annual leave plus statutory holidays, increasing by one day per year after two years of service, up to a maximum of 28 days. Opportunity to work with leading automotive OEMs. Six-month probation period to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
