We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team at our Measham facility. This is a permanent position offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to work on complex and precise mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, a high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, adjust, and set fixtures and mechanical systems of our design, ensuring precision and quality.
- Identify and report snags, assisting in their rectification.
- Conduct testing, load testing, torque testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Install machinery, including siting and leveling, at customer sites such as JLR, BMW, Aston Martin, Tesla, and other automotive OEMs.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to high standards of quality and cleanliness.
Qualifications
- Apprentice Level 3 or equivalent in a mechanical engineering subject.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role.
- Valid driving license with a relatively clean record.
- Possession of own tools.
- Forklift Truck (FLT) license.
- High attention to detail and quality.
Desirable Skills
- MIG and TIG welding experience.
- CNC and manual machining experience.
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems and electronics.
- MEWP ticket.
Day-to-Day
- Work independently to assemble and test mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure all systems meet quality standards.
- Travel to customer sites for installation and commissioning of machinery.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any issues promptly.
