We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team at our Measham facility. This is a permanent position offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to work on complex and precise mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, a high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, adjust, and set fixtures and mechanical systems of our design, ensuring precision and quality.
  • Identify and report snags, assisting in their rectification.
  • Conduct testing, load testing, torque testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
  • Install machinery, including siting and leveling, at customer sites such as JLR, BMW, Aston Martin, Tesla, and other automotive OEMs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to high standards of quality and cleanliness.

Qualifications

  • Apprentice Level 3 or equivalent in a mechanical engineering subject.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Valid driving license with a relatively clean record.
  • Possession of own tools.
  • Forklift Truck (FLT) license.
  • High attention to detail and quality.

Desirable Skills

  • MIG and TIG welding experience.
  • CNC and manual machining experience.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic systems and electronics.
  • MEWP ticket.

Day-to-Day

  • Work independently to assemble and test mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure all systems meet quality standards.
  • Travel to customer sites for installation and commissioning of machinery.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any issues promptly.
