This Adagio Aparthotel, combining the flexibility of an apartment with the services of a hotel, will introduce a high-quality extended-stay offering to Belfast city centre, perfectly suited to modern travellers who value space, flexibility and community during their stay. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and ambitious individual with a big heart and a record of delivering results.
You will be responsible for opening the Adagio Aparthotel, managing the process of building and training your team, and being heavily involved in the procurement, systems, sales and marketing of this property. As General Manager of Adagio, you will provide leadership and direction of your Aparthotel team. You will achieve excellence by developing your people to the best of their potential, creating and maintaining a unique guest experience, delivering brand standards and building awareness of the Aparthotel and the Adagio brand in the local community. By the above actions and by providing financial control and revenue management, you will maximize financial returns for your property.

About The Role:
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- People: Build an award-winning, motivated and empowered team that will position the Adagio Aparthotel as a leading destination in its market. Develop and implement a training and development plan to increase team skills, engagement and performance that are aligned with the service philosophy and brand standards. Communicate the Aparthotel news, goals, achievements to the team and celebrate individual successes at regular team meetings to develop a team culture. Establish performance and development goals for team members and provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback and appraisals to enhance performance. Monitor and increase team satisfaction through surveys and regular interaction. Oversee HR related actions in accordance with rules and policies.
- Guest Experience: Achieve agreed targets and drive improvement in guest satisfaction goals in key areas, particularly cleanliness, front desk, food service and overall satisfaction by maintaining compliance with all required brand and service standards, and KPIs. Collaborate with colleagues and Aparthotel team members to establish and implement services and programs that meet or exceed guest expectations. Speak to guests – ask for their feedback and build relationships. Produce and implement SOPs for all areas of operations to ensure team members understand what is expected of them and are trained in service delivery.
- Financial Control: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and sales and marketing plans. Put controls and initiatives in place to manage costs and operate within agreed budgets. Implement initiatives and best practices to manage costs and control waste. Play an active role in sales, marketing and revenue management and lead and empower your revenue team to deliver maximised results. Ensure the Aparthotel asset is well maintained and prepare maintenance and capex plans for the year ahead.
- Responsible Business: Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, colleagues and Aparthotel assets. Ensure health & safety policies are in place and procedures and regulatory requirements are up to date. Maintain relations with outside contacts acting as a public relations representative to raise awareness of Aparthotel and the Adagio brand in the local community. Drive team member involvement in community organisations and charities. Develop and carry out action plans to be environmentally conscious by taking steps to reduce the Aparthotel’s carbon footprint and meet other environmental targets.
Accountabilities: This position is the senior management tier in your business unit. You hold ultimate responsibility for the performance, actions and behaviours of your team. At all times you must set an example to your team and exhibit the leadership expected from a General Manager and perform other duties as assigned which may include serving as manager on duty.

Required Criteria:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Hotel/Aparthotel management as a General Manager / Front Office Manager or Operations Manager
- Experience working in and managing a branded hotel/Aparthotel.
- Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in Hotel and Tourism / Hospitality / Hotel Administration, Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent team building and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team to deliver measurable success against targets and bring about operational improvements
