About the Role
As a Class 2 Driver, you will:
- Operate a rigid vehicle equipped with a tail lift to deliver bakery products to a range of retail outlets, wholesale and convenience stores across the South of England.
- Provide a high level of customer service at delivery points, engaging directly with customers to ensure delivery requirements are met and expectations are managed effectively.
- Demonstrate flexibility to accommodate early start times, safely operate taillift equipment, and carry out manual handling of bread deliveries in line with safe working practices.
- Ensure all goods are loaded, secured, and transported correctly to prevent movement or damage, using straps, load restraint bars, and other securing equipment as required.
- Conduct comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using the companyissued mobile device, ensuring vehicle safety, compliance, and reliability at all times.
- Maintain regular communication with the transport team, providing timely updates on progress to support efficient operations and customer satisfaction.
- Participate fully in regular training sessions to remain up to date with industry standards, compliance requirements, and bestpractice procedures.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Must hold a UK Class 2 C Licence.
- Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- Demonstrate a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
- Ability to work effectively to deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
- Confident, courteous, and able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Good geographical knowledge and route awareness.
- Physically fit, flexible, hardworking, and selfmotivated with a positive attitude.
