- Heavy Trailer and Plant Body Fitter
- Purpose
To assemble heavy haulage trailers and plant bodies to required specifications, following technical drawings and instructions.
The role involves mechanical fitting, hydraulics, and electrical work, ensuring all builds meet quality, safety, and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general fitting including cutting, grinding, and mechanical assembly of structural components
- Install power packs, PTOs, and manual control systems
- Work from technical drawings and build specifications
- Fit hydraulic components including rams, hoses, couplings, and control valves
- Connect and route hydraulic systems in line with schematics
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic faults
- Read and follow electrical wiring diagrams
- Work with pneumatic systems and interpret air logic schematics
- Ensure all work meets required quality standards and specifications
- Identify and report quality issues, supporting corrective actions
- Carry out quality inspections and complete job book sign-offs
- Work with Quality team to resolve non-conformances
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
- Act as a point of contact between shop floor, production teams, and management
- Provide updates on build progress, issues, and material shortages
- Complete production records and inspection documentation
- Communicate effectively with fitting, welding, paint, and quality teams
- Work closely with Quality, Health & Safety, and Stores teams to maintain workflow
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures
- Promote a safety‑first culture and report unsafe conditions
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and incident investigations
- Maintain a clean and organised work bay in line with 6S principles
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and PPE
- Participate in Lean and 6S activities
- Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and safety risks, suggesting improvements
- Maintain standards in red‑tag areas and workspaces
- Support cross‑functional teams as required
- Contribute to audits, compliance checks, and improvement initiatives

- Experience in heavy vehicle or plant body building, welding, or mechanical fitting (training provided if required)

- Purpose
To carry out painting and spraying duties on trailers and associated components to the required standard, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in the paint shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Always follow company Health & Safety procedures and wear the required PPE
- Ensure painting tasks are conducted in a safe and controlled manner, including use of extraction systems and safe handling of chemicals
- Work safely and complete site‑specific risk assessments prior to starting work
- Mix paint accurately according to manufacturer instructions and job specifications
- Apply primer and top coat using spray equipment to a high standard
- Ensure all paint and materials are correctly labelled, stored, and returned to their designated places after use
- Check and confirm that required paint is available at least one day prior to scheduled use
- Monitor stock levels of paint and consumables and inform the relevant person when reordering is required
- Change extraction filters as scheduled or when required
- Ensure tools and spray equipment are cleaned and maintained in good working condition
- Report any faults or breakdowns immediately
- Keep the work area clean and tidy throughout the shift
- Dispose of waste materials safely and in accordance with environmental guidelines
- Take breaks during drying times after primer and top coat applications
- Experience in industrial or automotive painting/spraying preferred
- Basic understanding of Health & Safety regulations and COSHH
- Good attention to detail and ability to work to quality standards

Key Responsibilities

To ensure that all trailers and components meet internal quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements through inspection, process control, defect prevention, and continuous improvement across production.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement inspection plans for raw materials, in‑process assemblies, and finished trailers
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of fabricated structures, welds, and mechanical assemblies
- Perform final inspection and pre‑delivery inspection (PDI) sign‑off prior to customer delivery
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards including ISO, GB, DVSA, and applicable trailer manufacturing requirements
- Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure consistent quality output
- Identify and resolve quality issues in fabrication, welding, painting, and assembly
- Work alongside production teams to improve build accuracy and reduce rework
- Maintain inspection records, test reports, and quality documentation
- Generate non‑conformance reports (NCRs) and track corrective actions
- Analyse quality data and produce reports on trends, defects, and performance
- Inspect incoming materials and components from suppliers
- Support supplier quality assessments and audits
- Work with procurement to resolve supplier‑related quality issues
- Lead root cause analysis investigations using methods such as 5 Whys and Fishbone
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

- Purpose
We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to assist senior engineers with special designs and production of 3D Models and drawings for manufacturing.
The role would ideally suit a school or College graduate.
The successful candidate will liaise closely with existing Senior Engineers, Production, Procurement and Sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing drawings for production jobs to a high standard and assisting Senior Engineers in producing drawings from the initial concept designs.
These will include bespoke rigid vehicles and trailers for commercial and military applications
- Adopting and enhancing existing designs following the company's established design principles
- Training will be provided in systems used on modern day commercial vehicles enabling the successful candidate to understand their workings and produce drawings and designs to complement the company’s existing portfolio
- The company uses the latest 3D design software, with some 2D drafting still required
- Ability to work within a small team environment, contributing to meeting deadlines and shared team objectives
- Some knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety policies and Statutory Regulations
- Perform any other reasonable duties in line with business needs
- You will be qualified with Grade 4 or above English, Maths and science and ideally have a strong art or technical studies qualification
- Experience of using Computer Aided Design tools would be an advantage. Full training can also be provided
