L2 Childcare Practitioner Apprentice

Introduction

The Early Years Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship is a work-based training designed for individuals starting a career in early childhood care and education. You will work directly with young children aged birth-five years old, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

About the Employer

We are a local nursery well established in our community for over 30 years. We offer places for up to 28 children ages 2-4 years old on both full time and part time hours.

What You'll Do

Apprentices gain practical knowledge and skills across several mandatory areas, typically broken down into core modules.

• Child Development: Understanding how infants and young children learn, grow, and hit developmental milestones.
• Safeguarding: Implementing strict child protection, online safety, and security protocols.
• Health and Safety: Managing workplace hazards, identifying risks, and maintaining infection prevention and control.
• Purposeful Play: Planning, setting up, and reviewing inclusive play activities that stimulate speech, language, and physical growth.
• Partnership Working: Assisting in observations, tracking key child progress, and communicating effectively with parents and colleagues.

Working Arrangements

Working Week: Monday to Friday, 08:45am - 1:45pm or 11:30am - 4:30pm.One or the other sessions will be discussed and allocated for the duration of your apprenticeship following successful interview.
