Sparsholt College has a national reputation and a long proud history of training future gamekeepers and wildlife managers, many of whom are now in key roles across the whole of the UK. We are now seeking a new member of staff to join the Land & Wildlife team.

About the role:

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced person to work as a Technician. The role is learner facing, and the post-holder will supervise learners in a range of gamekeeping, conservation and wildlife management skills, dependant on experience. The role also includes the responsibility to ensure that departmental resources, facilities and equipment are maintained to a high standard. The post-holder will be responsible for the management and day-to-day operation and supervision of the College’s Game and Wildlife resources, which will include game rearing, husbandry of the Sika deer herd, pest and predator control, and assistance with local game shoots.

What we’re looking for:

Candidates for this role should have experience of gamekeeping including working knowledge of gamebird rearing and release and pest and predator control. Ideally you will hold a minimum Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject. You will also need to be self-motivated and have the aptitude to work with young people and a desire to help to educate the next generation. A full driving licence and possession of Shotgun and Firearms Certificates are desirable.
