About the role: In this role the post holder will provide practical/theory instruction to learners on Entry Level to Level 3 Motor Vehicle courses and support to the team within the workshop, together with contributing towards ensuring the department’s resources and facilities are maintained to the highest level, including maintenance and development of the workshop facilities. If your longer-term aspiration is to get into teaching, then this role provides excellent grounding along with an extremely supportive environment. Depending upon the skill set of the successful applicant, there will be the opportunity to deliver up to 4 hours of some classroom based lessons which are remunerated on the lecturer pay scale.
Whilst you do not have to have previous experience of working in an education setting to apply for the role, the successful candidate will need to possess:
- Relevant technical qualification(s)
- Demonstrable relevant experience of working in the motor vehicle industry
- Good communication skills to support and interact with learners and colleagues
- A willingness to attain a level 3 teaching qualification and undertake in-house development relating to supporting students
- A “can-do” attitude
