Sparsholt College is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Arboricultural/Forestry Instructor to join our team as a sessional instructor. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with practical experience in arboriculture or forestry who wants to develop their teaching skills and explore a career in education.

What you’ll do:

• Deliver engaging, hands-on training sessions in arboriculture and forestry techniques to learners of both short courses and full-time programmes.

• Support learners in developing practical skills required for the arboricultural and forestry industries.

• Assist with course preparation, assessments, and learner progress monitoring.

• Collaborate with a friendly team dedicated to delivering high-quality education in land-based subjects.

What we’re looking for:

• Practical experience in arboriculture or forestry (industry qualifications essential – particularly chainsaw maintenance and cross cut, felling and climbing and aerial rescue).

• A genuine interest in teaching and helping others develop their skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Flexibility and reliability.

• Willingness to work towards a teaching qualification if you wish to progress in education.

• Eligibility to join the Local Government Pension Scheme (a defined benefit pension scheme)
