Animal Health and Welfare Research Centre Companion Animal Keeper (Cats & Dogs)
Salary: Up to £24,243 full-time equivalent (dependent upon experience and qualifications)
Working Pattern: Part-time (22.5 hours per week / 52 weeks per year)

We are seeking a dedicated keeper to join our animal keeping team at the AHWRC, which is BIAZA accredited, zoo licensed, and holds a pet shop and dog boarding license.
Animal Keeper Responsibilities:
- Manage and undertake husbandry of the companion animal section, particularly kennel and cattery animals.
- Participate in commercial activities such as dog boarding and hydrotherapy, providing excellent customer service.
- Contribute to the development of the species collection plan and husbandry for new species.
- Ensure high standards of animal husbandry through daily routines and supervise students in practical husbandry sessions.
- Support and cover other sections of the AHWRC as needed; knowledge of other species is desirable.
Candidate Requirements:
- Educated to at least Level 2 in a relevant vocational subject.
- Professional experience in an accredited kennels or cattery.
- Flexible, enthusiastic, and able to work weekends on a rotational basis.
- Driving license is advantageous due to the location at Sparsholt campus.
