The Mechanical Engineering Placement Student will work in the Engineering team enhancing Andor’s innovative scientific product portfolio and providing technical support. The role extends to mechanical design and development of scientific cameras and high end opto-mechanical mechanisms, engineering change management within a production environment, bill of material management, support for customer queries and production technical support. This is a 12-month fixed term contract starting in September 2025 and will be based fulltime onsite at OI Andor, Springvale Business Park, Belfast. We are for looking enthusiastic mechanical engineering students who: Will have successfully completed the 2nd year of a BEng honours degree (IMechE accredited) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical & Manufacturing, Aeronatautical, Product Design or Automotive Engineering by summer 2025 Are available to start placement in September 2025 Are hungry to learn and innovate Are excellent team players and communicators Are eager to apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges How to Apply: If you are ready to embark on a thrilling engineering journey with us apply via Jobs at Oxford Instruments with a CV and a cover letter outlining your aspirations and why you’d be a great fit for OI Andor.
