  • Overview

Andium Homes is a Government owned not-for-profit organisation and Jersey’s principal provider of social rented and assisted purchase homes.

We are the Island’s largest landlord, owning more than 5,000 rental properties and we provide good quality homes and highly valued landlord services for more than 10,000 Islanders.

Alongside this we deliver an annual programme of assisted purchase sales utilising our Andium Homebuy scheme which offers deposit free sales at 75% of the property value.

Andium is not funded by the tax payer, all of our services, developments and borrowing is paid for from our rental and sales income.

We also make an Annual Return to Government of at least £29m.

The Role

The Development & Operations Technician will be a part of a small team focused on software development and its operational functions.

The focus of this role is to support the business initiatives through new and existing automation developments.

This role will also be required to assist in the management and support of our IT environment, business systems, as well as assisting colleagues in an ever-changing dynamic IT environment.

The successful candidate/postholder must have excellent IT skills, communication skills and an understanding of programme management.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Azure cloud environment along with an active presence in understanding the latest and greatest tech solutions that can make a positive business impact to Andium.

  • Job Specific Outcomes
  • Manages workload and priorities with minimal supervision, demonstrating accountability and initiative
  • Escalation point for technical support incidents.
  • Provide level 2 and 3 desktop support both desk-side and remotely in line with department procedures for any IT related matter (systems, applications, databases).
  • Identify, analyse, isolate, troubleshoot and provide detail resolutions of complex technical issues.
  • Log and escalation all incidents and changes as required, including liaising with 3rd parties to resolve more complex issues.
  • Maintain a library of associated materials (SOPs) for all equipment, processes and procedures.
  • Contribute towards knowledge sharing and lunch & learn events across the business
  • Adhere to and follow IT policies and procedures.
  • Perform scheduled checks on the IT environment ensuring security and cyber threats risks are managed appropriately.
  • Maintain and progress assigned IT related risks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define development requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Contributes to the design and implementation of the Digital architecture, roadmap and strategy.
  • Deliver technical projects in line with the Digital roadmap and Business objectives.
  • Contributes to quality assurance by identifying gaps and proposing improvements.
  • Provide business cases and research the latest solutions available to assist with business productivity.
  • Create comprehensive test scripts using agreed methodologies that reflect functional services and solutions.
  • Transition developed services into support (documentation & training).
  • Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by management.
  • As part of the role, the post holder is at times required to provide technical support in the absence of the Service Desk resources.
  • Required attendance outside of normal business hours to provide system or colleague support and to undertake essential planned activities which cannot reasonably be undertaken during normal business hours.

Such time will always be compensated for with additional time in lieu in line with the company approach to flexible working.

  • Educated to AS level or have an equivalent qualification in IT
  • Experience of development and coding in a work environment preferable
  • Advanced SQL Server experience administration
  • Knowledge and experience of administrating Microsoft Office 365 and Share Point
  • Technical problem solving, dependability, initiative and professionalism are of the utmost importance
  • Must have an Analytical mindset that will identify and solve technology-related issues and enhancements.
