Investment Associate - Technology Growth Equity - London

Andesite Partners

Our client is an established global private equity and growth fund managing several billion dollars of institutional capital.

The firm invests in rapidly growing, technology‑led businesses with strong market positions, differentiated products and the potential to become significantly larger international companies. Its areas of interest include software, data, digital infrastructure and technology‑enabled business models across a range of end markets. The investment approach is selective and research‑driven. Rather than building a highly diversified portfolio, the team concentrates its resources on a smaller number of high‑conviction investments where it believes it can contribute meaningfully beyond capital.

The firm works closely with founders, executives and management teams on areas including:

  • International expansion and market entry.
  • Commercial strategy and go‑to‑market development.
  • Product positioning and innovation.
  • Organisational design and senior talent.
  • Strategic partnerships and acquisitions.
  • Long‑term financial and operational planning.

The London team is responsible for identifying, evaluating and supporting investment opportunities across Europe, while collaborating closely with colleagues and portfolio companies internationally.

The Opportunity

The firm is seeking an exceptional Investment Associate to join its growing European investment team in London.

This is a broad investing position covering the full investment lifecycle. The successful candidate will contribute to thematic research, proprietary sourcing, company evaluation, transaction execution and ongoing portfolio development. Unlike roles where junior investors are confined primarily to modelling or process management, the Associate will be expected to develop independent views, participate in senior‑level discussions and build relationships across the European technology ecosystem.

The position offers substantial exposure to senior investment professionals, company founders, management teams and advisers. It would suit someone who combines strong analytical training with commercial curiosity, intellectual independence and a genuine interest in how technology businesses are built.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate high‑growth technology businesses across Europe.
  • Develop investment themes across software, AI, data, digital infrastructure and technology‑enabled services.
  • Conduct market mapping, competitive analysis and company research.
  • Build financial models and assess valuation, growth, margins, retention and investment returns.
  • Analyse recurring‑revenue models, unit economics and go‑to‑market performance.
  • Support commercial, financial, technical and operational due diligence.
  • Prepare investment committee materials and present findings to senior investors.
  • Assist with transaction structuring, negotiation and execution.
  • Build relationships with technology founders, executives, advisers and investors.
  • Support portfolio companies with international expansion, commercial strategy, M&A and senior hiring.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and evaluate follow‑on investment opportunities.

The firm is primarily interested in candidates from:

  • Technology growth equity, private equity or venture capital.
  • Technology investment banking or specialist M&A advisory.
  • Leading strategy consultancies with technology and private equity experience.
  • Candidates will typically have two to five years of relevant experience.

Required Experience

  • Strong understanding of technology businesses and digital business models.
  • Excellent financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills.
  • Experience assessing software, data, AI or technology‑enabled companies.
  • Understanding of recurring revenue, retention, unit economics and sales efficiency.
  • Strong commercial judgement and investment thinking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work directly with founders, executives and senior investors.
  • Genuine interest in emerging technologies and rapidly changing markets.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Intellectually curious and highly commercial.
  • Passionate about technology and investing.
  • Proactive in developing investment ideas and company relationships.
  • Comfortable working in a lean and entrepreneurial team.
  • Confident expressing an independent view.
  • Collaborative, low ego and highly driven.
  • Able to operate with significant responsibility from an early stage.

Why Join?

  • Join an established global technology investment platform.
  • Work across sourcing, execution and portfolio development.
  • Gain direct exposure to senior investors and technology founders.
  • Invest across leading European software and technology markets.
  • Help develop the firm’s European investment activity.
  • Take on meaningful responsibility within a small London team.
  • Build a long‑term career within a high‑performing investment firm.
