Andesite Partners is delighted to have been appointed to partner with a leading European growth-buyout investment platform on the recruitment of 2 x Investment Associates for its London team.
The Opportunity
A growing European private equity firm is looking to appoint two Investment Associates to its London investment team. The firm invests in established, high-growth technology businesses across Europe, with a particular interest in recurring-revenue and software-led business models. It primarily pursues majority and control investments, partnering closely with founders and management teams to support the next stage of growth. The strategy combines the transaction discipline of traditional private equity with a highly commercial and growth-oriented approach to ownership. The team supports portfolio companies with strategic development, international expansion, organic growth initiatives and selective acquisitions. These appointments offer the opportunity to join an ambitious investment platform at an important point in its development. The successful candidates will work closely with senior investors and gain broad exposure across origination, investment execution and portfolio development.
The Role
The Investment Associates will become integral members of a lean and collaborative investment team. Associates will be given meaningful responsibility throughout the investment lifecycle and will be expected to contribute their own judgement rather than operating solely in an execution capacity. The role will include evaluating new opportunities, conducting detailed commercial and financial analysis, supporting transaction processes and working with portfolio company management teams following investment.
Key Responsibilities
- Research attractive technology sectors, develop investment themes and map relevant markets
- Identify prospective investment opportunities and build relationships with founders, executives and advisers
- Support proprietary sourcing activity, industry outreach and the maintenance of the firm’s opportunity pipeline
- Assess new opportunities through commercial, financial and strategic analysis
- Build operating models, valuation analyses and investment returns cases
- Support due diligence, transaction structuring, financing and investment committee preparation
- Coordinate key workstreams with management teams, advisers and other transaction counterparties
- Monitor financial and operational performance across portfolio companies
- Work with management teams on budgeting, strategic planning and selected growth initiatives
- Support market expansion, product development and bolt-on acquisition opportunities
- Prepare portfolio reviews, board materials and performance analysis
- Contribute to the continued development of the firm’s investment processes and internal systems
- Support selected investor reporting, market intelligence and broader firm-building initiatives
- Play an active role in maintaining a collaborative, rigorous and entrepreneurial culture
Candidate Profile
The firm is interested in meeting candidates with approximately two to five years of relevant professional experience. Suitable candidates are likely to have developed their experience within:
- Growth equity
- Technology or software investment banking
Direct software or technology investment experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Candidates must, however, demonstrate a credible interest in investing in technology businesses and working alongside entrepreneurial management teams.
Strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical capabilities
A sound understanding of financial statements and transaction analysis
Excellent commercial judgement and intellectual curiosity
The ability to understand businesses beyond their financial performance
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The confidence to interact with senior investors, founders and management teams
High attention to detail and consistently strong standards of work
The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership
A collaborative, grounded and low-ego working style
