We are looking for a part-time Treasury Assistant to complement the existing finance team in central Guildford. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring our finance function delivers a high-quality service to the wider business. You will be primarily responsible for day-to-day treasury functions including cashing up and bank reconciliations, whilst also providing support across the broader departmental duties.

The position is for 20-25 hours per week, and we are happy to discuss working patterns that work for you – whether that is working full days, or shorter shifts across the 5‑day working week. Our finance team are office-based at our store in central Guildford, therefore applicants must be within a commutable distance of Guildford in order to be considered.

Key Tasks
  • Primary responsibilities
    • Treasury tasks:
      • Cash up and re‑float all store tills
      • Bank reconciliations and Cash Book Ledger Postings
      • Credit Card & Paypal reconciliations
      • Consumer Credit payment posting and allocations
      • Petty Cash Reconciliations and re‑float
      • Bank Transaction Analysis for cash flow forecasting
    • Sales Ledger:
      • Sales invoice distribution to account customers
      • Sales ledger cash allocation
      • Customer query investigation and resolution
    • Departmental support:
      • Assisting with Credit Control tasks
      • General administration duties
Key Skills
  • Office experience preferably in treasury/accounts or data administrative role
  • Computer literate with experience of Microsoft Excel
  • Some experience of using standard computerised accounts packages
  • Outstanding attention to detail and numeric aptitude
  • Dependable, flexible and able to work to tight deadlines
  • Good Communication Skills
  • High level of organisation and resilience
  • Experience in a retail business or similar high volume business
