An exciting opportunity for a competent and experienced Guitar Technician/Luthier to join our busy workshop at our Guildford warehouse.
You’ll be working for a world-renowned retailer with over 50 years’ experience selling and servicing the finest guitars from all over the globe, setting up, inspecting, and repairing guitars from brands including Fender, PRS, Gibson & Martin and pretty much anyone else you can think of!
Our workshop also has one of only a handful of PLEK machines in the UK and you will be responsible for setting up, loading, and operating the machine (full training provided).
Key Responsibilities
- Servicing & repairing customer-owned stringed instruments with a high level of craftsmanship.
- Setting up Electric, Archtop, Acoustic and Bass Guitars for optimum playability and ensuring they meet and adhere to set standards.
- Using our PLEK machine for both analysis and fret levelling.
- Discussing the customer’s service and repair requirements in order to ensure service and repair meet customer’s expectations.
- Assessment and administration of customer returned guitars.
- Performing thorough Quality Control inspections and functional checks of Guitars, identifying, and resolving any defects where and when possible/required.
- Effective communication with team members and Warehouse Management.
Candidate Profile
- Positive, team player with excellent personal time management and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of guitar maintenance and repair with demonstrable experience in the guitar tech/repair field
- A keen passion for all things guitar and extensive product knowledge.
- Suitable guitar playing ability.
Please note an existing working knowledge of fretted instrument repair and setup is essential. Successful applicants will be required to demonstrate relevant skills and experience as part of a practical interview.

- Working Hours: 9am – 6pm Monday to Friday (5 day week)
