Are you an ambitious and customer-focused sales professional looking for an opportunity to develop your career within a well-established and successful business? We are recruiting for a Sales Executive to join a busy and growing branch in Tattenhall. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in sales, customer service or a commercial environment who enjoys building relationships, identifying opportunities and delivering exceptional customer service.
Working with both retail and commercial customers, you will play a key role in driving sales, preparing quotations and developing long-term customer relationships while contributing to the continued growth and success of the branch.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries by telephone, email and face-to-face.
- Prepare quotations, estimates and tenders to meet customer requirements.
- Proactively contact existing and prospective customers to identify new sales opportunities.
- Convert quotations into confirmed orders and manage the sales process through to completion.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with customers to encourage repeat business.
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity using the CRM system.
- Liaise with Operations, Production and Transport teams to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Advise customers on product selection and provide commercial and technical guidance where required.
- Support the day-to-day operation of the branch while contributing to individual and team sales targets.
- Operate a forklift truck when required, with full training provided if necessary.
Requirements
- Previous experience in sales, customer service, account management or a commercial environment.
- Ability to prepare accurate quotations and estimates while working to deadlines.
- Experience of working within a builders merchant or similar is highly desirable.
- Confident communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to build rapport and develop long-term customer relationships.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Computer literate, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Proactive, resilient and commercially minded.
- Committed to delivering outstanding customer service and achieving results.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own transport are essential due to the branch location.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in any of the following would be advantageous: B2B sales, trade, construction, manufacturing or building products, CRM systems, forklift truck operation.
